Mags and Tom

‘The life of one who loves is always

A strange mingling of rapture and distress.’

Hadewijch

Companioning…

‘… a searching mind, a longing heart, and a loving soul.’

Hadewijch

Welcome to Mags and Tom. I’m glad you’re here! And I’m delighted that you’re seeking support for your journey! ‘Fallen’ Mags and ‘doubting’ Tom, are moving exemplars, but also parts of ourselves, who walk with us through pain to growth and harmony. Mags (Mary Magdalene) and Tom (Thomas the ‘doubter’) show us that those with deep and perhaps traumatic emotions of distress, anger, grief, confusion and despair, among others, retain a prerogative for transformative growth and union in the Divine, if they remain open. The Christian figures of Mags and Tom show us how to ‘hurl onwards towards the Divine’, as Dutch mystic Hadewijch urges.

‘What you and I are

Can never be told.

All words faint

Before that majesty.

When Love’s face appears

And shows us ours

The whole universe

Melts in amazement.’

Hadewijch

This life-forming evolution can be supported through a practice of Spiritual Direction and contemplative living. Mags and Tom are inspiring Christian figures who show us how to transcend personal circumstances, become non-violent and hospitable to ourselves and others and come into truth, freedom and peace (true life) that is immersed in Divine life. This is the message of Mags and Tom.

‘There is a way of breathing

That is a shame and suffocation.

And there’s another way of expiring,

A love breath, that lets you open infinitely.’
